There are a few options available for those who are interested in helping keep this website running smoothly.
Volunteering / Receiving Services
The best way to help is to volunteer at or receive services from the listed Organizations and give us feedback on how it went. The preferred place for us to receive this information is the comment sections of each post (so that as many people as possible hear about your experience directly from you). If you prefer a bit more privacy, please visit the Contact page.
Here is some helpful information to tell us / the community:
- Accessibility information ✰
- How was your experience?
- Is there any information you think we should add?
- Is there any information we’ve listed that is no longer accurate?
- (Receiving Services) Did you have an easy time getting what you needed? What anything different from how it was described?
- (Volunteering) What were/are the volunteer tasks?
Contributing
The next best way to help is to contribute organizations, resources, and campaigns that you know of and/or seek out organizations or resources that aren’t listed and submit them to the website. Visit the Contribute page to find out how.
There are also a few less-intensive roles we are seeking to fill. Please reach out through the Contact page to learn more.
Promoting
Getting this information to people who need it is key for this website to be effective and helpful! If you are inclined on helping with this via postering/flyering, word-of-mouth, or any other means, you can get started today all on your own! The Contact page is available if you’d like to coordinate or have questions, but the recommended method is just printing out some pre-made flyers (or making your own and sending them our way to be added to the pre-made flyer folder) and distribute them yourself. At the library, you can print up to 100 pages a day for free in black and white.
Donating
The last way to help is monetarily. Yearly website expenses are covered by Community’s Nonprofit, and there is a team of helpers/contributors currently being assembled, however the labor and time spent editing and managing the website is currently in the hands of one exhausted comrade in the middle of a health decline. If you would like to help support them and their efforts to cope through helping others in the ways they are able (and simultaneously get quicker updates and more information on the site), feel free to visit the post.
