February 2025 Relaunch

Specifics on the website migration, a breakdown of the upgrades that this includes, plans/goals for the future, and ways to help.

As I hit 130 active organizations and (40 inactive) on pdxma.info, the back-end interface began slowing and becoming more and more frustrating to update. Carrd is a fantastic starting place for those that would like to begin building a resource-base for their own towns, but there is certainly a maximum capacity.

Luckily more than a few people reached out to me with interest in expanding the project. After a few meetings took place where we discussed ideas and goals, I began looking for short-term solutions while others began discussions with web developers to help us build something from scratch. For now, I found that WordPress works fantastically for our needs if I list everything as blog posts.

Someone from Community’s Nonprofit offered to sponsor the upgrade, and so everything was put into motion. I have finished adding all the information that was on pdxma.info, and am in the process of adding more comprehensive information, as well as resources and events. This will be a lot easier to manage with the help of others, so if you’re interested in being a part of the progression, please visit the Ways to Help page to see the currently available options. If you aren’t interested in being directly involved but have ideas you’d like to share, please drop them in the Suggestion Box. I am in the process of assembling a Team and will be consistently looking for helpers of various kinds for the foreseeable future.

Also of note, I decided to keep pdxma.info, but narrow it down to smaller grassroots organizations who do not receive government funding to hopefully uplift under-supported projects. This change has not yet taken place but will in the near future.

Thanks so much for being a part of this wonderful community!
